- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch ground nutmeg
- Pinch ground clove
- 1/4 cup rum
- 2 cups vanilla ice crea
In a large skillet melt butter and stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture begins to boil. Add bananas and continue to cook , gently stirring until heated through (about 1 minute). Away from heat, add rum to banana mixture. Return to stove and ignite rum using a long match. Or if you are using a gas burner, you can lean pan over flame to ignite. When flames go out, gently stir again and spoon over ice cream.
