library events

We typically head to the library for books and other media, but southside libraries are full of surprises. Join your friends at these libraries and turn the page on fitness, formal wear and frightful fun.

Healthy Habits: Walking Book Club
10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 16 through May 9, Greenwood Public Library, greenwoodlibrary.us

Reduce stress, improve cardiovascular fitness and increase your life expectancy by walking with the Greenwood Public Library’s casual Walking Book Club. It’s a chance to walk and talk about books as you discover trails around Greenwood. Each session will include prizes, and you’ll earn miles toward GPL’s Walking Book Club map challenge.

Project Prom
March 26 through 31, various JCPL locations

Ah prom: A night of beautiful memories, time with friends and a chance to dress up. But if you’re going to the big dance and don’t have the formal wear, check out Johnson County Public Library’s Project Prom, where you can browse its selection of free dresses, tuxedos, shoes and accessories. Got a dress that’s just hanging out in the closet? Donate it to Project Prom and give it new life. For more information, including hours and locations, visit pageafterpage.org.
